Hey there good and faithful partners! There has been a lot of activity going on over the last 12 months and so not to see anyone unclear or confused, Lindsey and I wanted to send out another quick newsletter just to give a little more clarity and share some prayer requests. Hey everyone! We wanted to send out a quick message and give you all an update on how things are progressing here in Honduras. We know it has been a while since we have sent out an update so without further or do….here we go.
In short…things do not seem to be progressing or improving as far as the quarantine goes. In fact, just this week, the government of Honduras decided to revert back to previous “lock down” rules. Just as we were starting to see a light at the end of the quarantine tunnel. However, with the rise in COVID-19 cases, that light quickly fizzled out and we continue to wait out the pandemic. So here is a quick rundown of how things have been since March. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE... Hey good and faithful prayer warriors and partners!
What strange times these are indeed!! We pray that you are all keeping safe and well during this time of quarantine and “social distancing” We wanted to put out a quick update for everyone to let you all know what's happening here in Honduras. First off we want to let you know that our family is safe and we are well stocked with food and water. Through your continued generosity, God has not stopped caring and providing for us and we are truly thankful to each and every one of you for responding to God’s leading and offering your prayers and support. We surely couldn’t be here without you. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE Hey everyone! We are officially ONE MONTH away from starting Dias Brillante feeding program and children's ministry at the community center in El Rincon and the response we have gotten from the community has been amazing. We have been meeting regularly with community leadership and together, as one body in Christ, we are working together to make this ministry a reality. Each person involved is bearing a portion of the responsibility. Several folks in the community have agreed to build a new cooking area to cook the food and the families that will be receiving the food have agreed to help prepare and serve the children. How amazing is our God??!! But this is not to say Lindsey and I are not without responsibilities of our own! Our job will be to provide the food, prepare a gospel message, love on the children, and train others to do likewise. And this is where you all come in! We are asking each one of you to consider making a recurring donation to help us reach a financial goal of $350 a month! It is an opportunity for us to pour into their lives, share the gospel, and build relationships with the teachers and families in the community. All year long we have been working diligently to build a strong, bible based children’s ministry and we are now feeling God leading us to grow. On March 7th we will be expanding outside the walls of the school and starting a NEW FEEDING PROGRAM at the community center. With the help and support of the community leaders in El Rincon, our goal will be to continue the children’s bible lessons but also include a nutritious meal that can be provided from the eggs and vegetables raised at the farm. Our prayer is that God will create a place where children and entire families in need can come and receive prayer and food, and be filled with the word of God all in one place! PLEASE be praying with us as we take this next big step in ministry. CLICK HERE to make a donation and find out how you can be involved! Six days a week, Joche (Jose) and his crew show up at the farm ready to work the fields, clearing out new areas and preparing the soil for new crops. Some of them walk for hours covering many miles over rugged and steep terrain, across rivers and through dense forest to get there. They endure blazing hot summers and miserably cold and rainy winters with little to no shelter. Their work is grueling and physically taxing. Most of it is done by hand with nothing more then a machete. And every time I go to the farm to work, I am amazed at the strong work ethic and diligence these guys exhibit each and every day. It seemed to us, only fair that since they were such a big part of the work, that they should be a big part of the blessing as well. As the harvest season approached we felt the Lord impressing on us the need to start getting our guys more involved with ministry. We felt it was important that they see the true purpose of everything we were doing. We wanted them to understand that working the land and growing the food, while important, was only a small part of the job and that they played an important role in God’s plan to use this farm as a means for sharing the gospel. More and more we are starting to take our guys with us, a couple at a time, to deliver the fruits of their labor. We are starting to engage them more at the feeding programs and the orphanages in hopes that they can begin to see the incredible spiritual impact they are having in their own country. We are prayerful that God will set their hearts on fire and begin to reveal to them their true purpose in Christ. And maybe one day carry this ministry to new heights that we could never ascend. This here is where discipleship begins! So God has given us the vision, the place, the people and the endurance to run with boldness, full speed, into a new chapter with Him. God is working in Honduras and if ever there was a time to be involved its now! With the farm expanding, our children’s ministry starting fresh in February and the hopes of starting a new boys home on the property, we are in need of your help NOW more then ever! We are asking that every one please be praying with us for this upcoming year…for direction, timing and provision! We know the God of the universe is preparing to open the flood gates and pour in every thing we need to accomplish the task. This year has truly been an amazing ride! At every turn God has shown up and He continues to fulfill every promise. The mission has always been the same…Follow Him as closely as possible, feed the hungry, and make disciples! And through simple obedience, we have seen His plans unfold, little by little, all according to His perfect timing. Praise God! What Finca Milagro did for 2017:
And just a few weeks ago we had our very first annual Christmas Celebration! We had over 300 men, women and children come and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas through a drama, games, songs, and a salvation message. We served 650 tamales and to top it off we had an amazing firework show! God is good all the time and all the time God is GOOD! We are really excited to see what the Lord has in store for 2018, and here are just a few things we are praying for in the upcoming year. On the Farm:
