2017 God is doing amazing things in Honduras!!

This year has truly been an amazing ride! At every turn God has shown up and He continues to fulfill every promise. The mission has always been the same…Follow Him as closely as possible, feed the hungry, and make disciples! And through simple obedience, we have seen His plans unfold, little by little, all according to His perfect timing. Praise God!

What Finca Milagro did for 2017:
  • Harvested 140,000 pounds of jalapeños, which brought money back into operating the farm and ministry.
  • Planted 280 avocado trees
  • Produced close to 7,000 pounds of various vegetables for feeding programs and for people in the community. We also gave away 100 meat chickens
  • Employed 40 plus workers from El Rincón and other surrounding communities.
  • Gave away roughly 18,000 eggs to feeding programs and orphanages.
  • Planted an additional 4 acres of new coffee plants.
Also in 2017 we started a children’s ministry program called Días Brillantes (Brighter Days). Each week we invite children from El Rincón to come experience the love of Jesus in a tangible way through songs, games, scripture, illustrations, crafts and more!
And just a few weeks ago we had our very first annual Christmas Celebration! We had over 300 men, women and children come and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas through a drama, games, songs, and a salvation message. We served 650 tamales and to top it off we had an amazing firework show!

God is good all the time and all the time God is GOOD!
We are really excited to see what the Lord has in store for 2018, and here are just a few things we are praying for in the upcoming year.
On the Farm:
  • Early in 2018 we are going to start raising pigs for the feeding programs and for revenue to help make the project self-sustaining.
  • Build “mega tunnel” greenhouses for our jalapeños to increase production and extend the harvest season.
  • Build 5 more chicken coops with over 100 chickens bringing our egg production to over 12,000 a month!
  • Build more permanent shelters/commons area so our workers have an escape from the rain, a place for them to relax, eat lunch, fellowship with one another, and to receive daily devotions before the work day begins.
  • And of course we are praying and believing for the funding to start the first phase to the aquaponics system. This system will be part of a refuge we hope to develop where troubled youth can find a safe place to make a change in their lives and be discipled in the Lord.
Children’s Ministry and other outreach in El Rincon:
  • We want to continue to build deeper relationship with the teachers and administration within the public school as well as the families within the community through various outreach programs.
  • Develop a youth program where young boys and girls can come and learn of their true identity in Jesus and see their purpose in Christ as the future of Honduras.
  • Continue and grow the children’s ministry at the community center and hopefully see all 300 children in the primary and secondary schools reached.
  • And because our Christmas Celebration went so well we are prayerfully considering an annual Easter Celebration.
We are so thankful to all of you who have prayed with us and helped us make this year be all that it was meant to be! Continue to pray alongside us for the new year as we step into new ministry opportunities and continue following the vision God gave us so long ago.In His Name,
Don, Lindsey, Kade, Jace and Aavin

God is the most powerful entity in the Universe. I am a scientist, which means that I need to believe in factual data, however, that does not mean that I cannot have faith. It goes without saying that this is a conflict within my philosophies, but that is okay. I want people to understand that my work and personal life are two different things. I hope that people become more like me, be more free and confident in your beliefs.
