As you all know, Don and I moved to Florida to learn aquaponics. And a year and a half later we can say that we can successfully grow food and raise fish (plus more). But the “learning journey" does not stop there! For me, I have learned more about myself and the God we serve then I ever thought imaginable. I have learned that a mission field does not have to be in a foreign country that we are stepping onto a mission field every time we walk out our front door. I have learned that my marriage can survive anything this world throws at us. I have learned what it means to sacrificially love my family and others. I have learned to be content with where the Lord has me. I have learned (and this has probably been the hardest) what it means to wait on the Lord, that everything is done in his PERFECT timing and not ours. I have learned that my Jesus loves my family so much that he never lets us go without the things that we need, that he is the ultimate provider. I have learned that my husband ROCKS and that I should thank God for him each and every day. I have learned that I don’t have to perfect (bc I never will be) to be used for His Glory! The list could go on and on, but I want to add in one more lesson learned to the list before this post gets too long. At the beginning of 2013 I set a goal for myself. I wanted to understand what love really is, what it feels like and most importantly what my God thinks about love. And OH WOW has it been a journey. I know it seems simple, that love is something we shouldn't have to strive to do, but for me I had to learn. It is something I knew in my mind but getting my heart to agree with my head was the hard part and it all started with learning about God’s love for me. I was thirsty for the kind of love God offers and didn't know it until I started exploring the meaning of love. I know now that I am his favorite, his beloved (thank you John the Baptist) that he will love me through all my junk and stinkin thinkin, that his love is unfailing and most importantly that his love can fill you and leave you with a love worth giving if you will let it.
So even though we have not been the best at communicating all the ups and downs of this last year and a half I hope you do know that none of your prayers, support and finances have not been in vain. We have learned so much more than we expected when we started this venture and the adventure is just beginning! So my hope is that you continue to follow us and support us as we move forward with anything and everything the Lord has in store for the Luttrell's. Love to all and thank you again for your support!
