We Said Goodbye to Texas...
|
We started Mission for the Multitudes in 2011 after building a small aquaponics system in our backyard in Texas. What seemed to be a simple project, turned into a God-led adventure that none of us could have ever imagined. We felt God calling us to share this new-found hobby to as many people as we could and use it as a way to bring the gospel and to see God change lives forever. God was calling us into missions and out of one simple step of obedience, we sold our house, our car, and most of our belongings and headed out to start our adventure in God. Along with our three children, Kade, Jace and Aavin, we uprooted our familiar life in Texas and moved to Dade City, Florida, where we could work and learn more about aquaponics and sustainable farming and follow God wherever He should lead us.
|
...and Hello to Florida
Our move to Florida led us to an organization called Morning Star Fisherman, an aquaponics training and research facility. Through our partnership with Morning Star, we learned a lot more then we had bargained for. We learned all about sustainable living and appropriate technologies. We learned that while aquaponics was a great way to grow food sustainably, it was only a small piece of the puzzle. As we leaned into God for every provision, we were growing in our walk with Christ. We were learning that it was God's plan taking shape in our lives and we were simply vessels willing to surrender everything for His Kingdom. He was working through us for something amazing and with every step in obedience we drew closer to His work and further from our own.

God's leading to New Adventures
|
By divine appointment we met Tim Lovelace, a Go To Nations missionary and the CEO of Glodev, Inc. GloDev is the relief and development arm for Go To Nations and establishes sustainable micro-farms in some of the poorest areas of the world. Tim had come to Morning Star Fishermen to learn about aquaponics and to design a system he had planned to build at an orphanage in Honduras. We had a shared vision for using farming as a way to grow God's Kingdom and after only a few short months we were on our way to help Glodev build its first aquaponics system in Honduras. While we were there, we met Go To Nations Directors, Wyly and Candy Gammon and soon signed on to become full-time missionaries with Go To Nations. God was leading to something far bigger than ourselves!

God's Goodness and Life in Honduras!
And so here we are living in the mountains of Honduras experiencing life in a way only God can reveal. Every chapter in our life has been one adventure after another and has ultimately led us to exactly where God wanted us. We have met so many amazing people and have had so many wonderful, life changing experiences along the way. Every step we have taken has been a step in obedience to God and to the calling He has put on our lives. We wish we could say we got it right every time, but the reality is that God has taken us to school from the very beginning and It has been His love and grace that has gotten us through. We look with expectation to the future and look forward to God’s goodness in the years to come!
